New Delhi : To check growing aggressive behaviour among children, a voluntary organisation has decided to set up peace clubs in several schools in the capital for counselling students.
The Indian chapter of Sister Against Violent Extremism (SAVE), an initiative of Women Without Borders (WWB), has launched a pilot project in the capital to counsel students with aggressive behaviour.
“Aggressive children grow up to become violent youths and extremists and if they are counselled at a young age we can have youths with non-violent and focussed approach,” said WWB chairperson Edit Schlaffer.
The NGO has prepared some situation-reaction games that will be included in the leisure activities period of the students in schools.
“Through these games we will try to test the psychology of the children and will do proper counselling of children who reflect aggressive behaviour,” said Archana Kapoor, a member of SAVE.
The NGO is also working to make a network of women in the country who can raise their voice against growing violence.
“Women have the power to put up a united fight against violence and if women get together they can change the world,” said Schlaffer.
