Vishwavidyalaya-Jahangirpuri metro corridor to be operational Feb 3

New Delhi : The Vishwavidyalaya-Jahangirpuri corridor of the Delhi Metro that was to be flagged off Jan 30 would now be operational from Feb 3, an official said Thursday.

The ceremony was postponed in view of the state mourning in the wake of death of former president R. Venkataraman who passed away Jan 27.

“The flagging off ceremony of the first train on this section will now be held on Feb 3 and the section will be opened for the general public from Feb 4 from 6 a.m. onwards,” a Delhi Metro Rail Corporation official said.

The 6.3 km long stretch in north Delhi has six stations namely Vishwavidyalaya, GTB Nagar, Model Town, Azadpur, Adarsh Nagar and Jahangirpuri.
