Lucknow : Four activists of Uttar Pradesh’s ruling Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) have been charged with assaulting members of a family in the state’s Sidharthnagar district, police said Saturday.
Sajid, a stringer with a local newspaper, filed a complaint against BSP leader Ganesh Sahni and three of his supporters. The case against the four was registered Saturday, Police Inspector Pankaj Gupta told IANS on telephone.
In his complaint, Sajid alleged that the BSP workers barged into his house in Sisami village, and attacked his family members with sticks and rods Friday night. Sidharthnagar is some 350 km from Lucknow.
The incident is believed to be a fallout of a land dispute between Sajid and Sahni. No one was seriously injured in the attack, the police official said.
