Two alleged criminals lynched in Jharkhand

Ranchi : Two alleged criminals were lynched by villagers in Gumla district of Jharkhand, police said here Sunday.

The duo, identified as Kuldeep Sao and Bhartu Oraon, entered Ghtgoitoli village, around 140 km from here, late Saturday night and were caught by villagers, who started beating them up with iron rods, police said. Sao and Oraon were killed on the spot.

The villagers had been keeping vigil at night after a series of thefts in the village.

A police team reached the village Sunday morning and recovered the bodies.

Police have lodged a first information report (FIR) against unidentified people for the killings.
