New Delhi : Another suspected member of the gang of Chhota Shakeel – one of India’s most wanted underworld dons – has been arrested, police said Monday, three days after six of his accomplices were held allegedly planning to target some VVIPS in the capital.
Police arrested the seventh Chhota Shakeel gangster, Baljeet, Sunday from outer Delhi and presented him before the Tis Hazari court on the same day to secure his five day custody for interrogation.
“He was part of the entire team and we are interrogating him,” Joint Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) P.N. Aggarwal told IANS.
Highly placed police sources said Baljeet had arranged sophisticated weapons for the other six sharpshooters arrested last week.
After the arrest of six sharpshooters here in the capital, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Varun Gandhi claimed the accused were plotting to kill him.
