Ranchi : Three people have been arrested for allegedly selling arms and explosives to Maoists in Jharkhand, police said Saturday.
According to police, Babban Pandey was arrested at Bokaro district’s Fusro railway station Saturday morning when he arrived from Kolkata and 2,000 pieces of components for hand grenades were seized from him.
On being interrogated, he revealed the names of two more people – Yamuna Prasad and Ashwini Kumar – who were also involved in supplying arms to Maoists. The other two were arrested from Fusro market, around 160 Km from Ranchi.
Police said the three men were working for Maoist leader Navin Majhi, said to be the mastermind of the June attacks in Bokaro district in which 12 security personnel were killed.
“We think more people are involved in arms and weapon supplying to Maoist rebels. We will bust the gang,” a police officer in Bokaro told IANS over the telephone.
