Metropolitan Magistrate Vishal Singh granted bail to Rishipal, Suresh Tomar and Radhey Shyam Tiwari, who were arrested earlier in the day.

Additional District Judge Pankaj Gupta was allegedly assaulted by a group of lawyers July 8 at Rohini District Court when he was making an inquiry regarding a “fictitious petition”.

One of the lawyers started obstructing the court’s functioning. When the judge asked him not to interfere, the lawyer went out and came back with several others. The group then abused the judge and slapped him several times, according to a statement by the Delhi Judicial Officers’ Association.

The Delhi High Court later issued contempt notices against the accused lawyers.

Eight lawyers were arrested in the case and all of them have now been released on bail.

On Tuesday, the metropolitan magistrate granted bail to the three accused on bonds of Rs.10,000 each along with surety of a similar amount.
