Dhaka : Former Indian president A.P.J. Abdul Kalam will head to Bangladesh next week to interact with the leadership here and visit educational institutions.
Kalam will meet President Zillur Rahman, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Nobel Laureate Muhammad Yunus during his three-day stay, the Indian High Commission here announced.
Hasina will host a dinner in honour of Kalam, who was India’s 11th president. He will also visit the Grameen Bank, founded by Yunus, which has done pioneering work in rural banking.
Kalam will deliver a special lecture to the students and teachers at Dhaka University and along with Zillur Rahman will attend the first annual convocation of the University of Information Technology and Sciences.
Much sought after at home and abroad since he stepped down from the president’s office last year, Kalam had paid a similar visit to Malaysia recently.
