By IANS,

Chennai : Top seed Manan Chandra of Petroleum Sports led a field of fancied players into the semi-finals of the Madras Gymkhana Club’s All-India invitational snooker tournament, here Thursday with a 4-1 victory over former National champion Alok Kumar (ONGC).

Chandra next meets former Asian champion Yasin Merchant (Maharashtra) who overcame Devendra Joshi (PSBB) 4-1 in a battle of the veterans.

In the other quarter-final matches, Sourav Kothari (PSBB) knocked out Brijesh Damani (Bengal) 4-3 and Aditya Mehta (PSBB) swept past the promising Faisal Khan (Railways) 4-0.
