2 CRPF men killed in Chhattisgarh

Raipur : At least two troopers of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were killed and four injured Tuesday when grenades exploded accidentally at a paramilitary camp in Chhattisgarh.

The incident took place at CRPF’s 85th battalion, based at Nayapara in Bijapur district of the insurgency-hit Bastar region, some 450 km south of capital Raipur.

“It’s an accidental explosion, the grenades went off during mock drill by CRPF jawans,” Inspector General of Police (Bastar Range) T.J. Longkumer told IANS.

He said the injured troopers were in critical condition and had been admitted to a hospital at Jagdalpur town, headquarters of Bastar.
