Man loses life in freak accident

Chandigarh: A freak accident here Sunday claimed the life of a middle-aged man, police said.

“Narinder Singh, 43, was coming out of a beauty parlour when this accident happened. When he pushed the glass door, a part of it suddenly broke and he fell on it,” said a police officer.

“He received serious injuries near his private parts and started bleeding profusely. He was rushed to the government hospital where doctors declared him brought dead,” said the officer.

Singh was a native of Uttar Pradesh. He was working in a senior managerial position in a shoe manufacturing company at Baddi town, Himachal Pradesh’s industrial hub, some 30 km from here.

The police have registered a case and started their investigation.

Mohammed Ibrahim, owner of the beauty parlour, said: “Narinder was our regular customer and he had come today (Sunday) to take a hair wig. He was in a hurry and said that he had to go to some religious ceremony that he had left in-between.”
