Mumbai : A key index of the Indian equities markets started trade in the green Friday.
The benchmark index of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), the Sensex, opened at 15,040.24 points, above Thursday’s close of 15,008.68. Within five minutes, it had risen to 15,074.164 points, 65.48 points or 0.44 percent higher than the last close.
At the same time, the S&P CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) stood at 4,588.35 points, 0.34 percent above its last close.
Broader market indices opened trade on an even better note, with the BSE midcap index rising 1.41 percent from its previous close, while the BSE smallcap index was up 1.55 percent.
