Chennai : The PMK, which had dumped the Congress before the Lok Sabha elections to join hands with the AIADMK, is now supporting the Tamil Nadu unit of the Congress in its demand for ministerial berths in the state government.
PMK leader S. Ramadoss said here Friday that the state’s ruling DMK should offer ministerial posts to the Congress in proportion to the number of its legislators.
The DMK government is supported by the Congress from outside. The DMK has 96 legislators and the Congress has 35.
In the Lok Sabha elections, the PMK had contested from seven constituencies – six in Tamil Nadu and one in Puducherry – and lost in all. Ramadoss blamed his party’s loss on the “use of money and muscle power by DMK”.
