Zardari will pay a two-day visit to Russia from June 14 for participation in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Yakaterinburg, said Farhatullah Babar.

On the sidelines of the SCO summit, Zardari is also likely to meet the leaders of Russia, China, Turkmenistan and Afghanistan, according to the presidential spokesman.

The president will visit Brussels in Belgium for three days from June 17 where the EU summit will take up the issue of export of Pakistani goods, particularly the textiles to the countries of European Union, the spokesman said.

On the sidelines of the EU summit in Brussels, Zardari is likely to meet heads of states and governments of a number of countries and international bodies, he said.

Babar said the EU summit held special importance for Pakistan as it would also consider Pakistan’s case for greater access to its products, particularly textile manufactures to the European countries’ markets.
