Mumbai : Indian equities opened in the green Friday with a key index rising more than 82 points about five minutes into trade.
The benchmark index of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), the Sensex, which opened at 15,446.82 points was ruling at 15,494.05 points, 82.58 points or 0.54 percent higher than Thursday’s close.
The S&P CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) too moved up, rising 0.49 percent to rule at 4,660.5 points around the same time.
Broader market indices were also ruling in the green, with the BSE midcap index ruling 0.87 percent higher and the BSE smallcap index moving up 0.81 percent.
The market breadth was positive with 708 scrips advancing as compared to 306 stocks on the decline. Only 24 stocks remained unchanged.
