Bodies of two IAF plane crash victims brought to Delhi

New Delhi : The bodies of two Indian Air Force (IAF) officers, who were among the 13 killed in the AN-32 transport aircraft crash in Arunachal Pradesh, were brought to the capital and accorded full military honours Saturday.

The bodies of Flight Lieutenant V. Kumar of Jind in Haryana and Master Warrant Officer Ramesh of Nangloi in Delhi were brought to the Palam airport from Jorhat by IAF’s Avro aircraft.

Ramesh and Kumar would be cremated at their native places.

“Full military honours were paid to the mortal remains on their arrival by senior IAF officials. Representatives were also present on the occasion to pay tributes on behalf of Chief of the Air Staff,” an IAF statement said.

Thirteen people were killed as the IAF’s AN-32 crashed in northeastern state of Arunachal Pradesh June 10. The wreckage and the bodies could be recovered only the next day.
