“She was breathing when she was taken out of the borewell. She was rushed to a hospital in Bandikui and then referred to Jaipur where she would be kept under observation,” a doctor told IANS.

The girl, Anju, fell into an open borewell while playing with her friends near Bandikui in Dausa, 100 km from the state capital

According to police official Ramveer Singh, Anju fell into the dry borewell at around 4 p.m. Police began rescue operations to rescue the girl, stuck around a level of 48 to 50 feet. Machines were pressed to dig a hole near the borewell.

Over 140 feet of the 200 feet borewell was recently filled by mud.

This is the second such incident in the state since 2007. Suraj, a six-year-old boy, had fallen into a 180 feet borewell near Jaipur in July 2007.

However, the rescue team could not reach Suraj, who was stuck for two days, in time and the boy was found dead.
