Mumbai: The Thane district police yesterday seized a huge cache of empty cartridges of AK47 assault rifles and 9mm revolvers in Asangaon area around noon on Friday.
As per the media reports, the police found a total of 2,610 used cartridges and 110 unused cartridges of AK47 rifles and other guns. The police had access to the bag when some passersby told them that something suspicious in a white-coloured plastic bag was lying on Savroli Road at the bottom of Mahuli Fort.
The police suspects it to be a part of the terror camps which they said might be working without being into their knowledge. The police are trying to verify the suspicious. Seven years ago the police had reportedly said that the terrorists were active in the region.
