“The grenade exploded, injuring three CRPF jawans (troopers). The injured were immediately taken to a hospital for treatment,” a senior police officer said.

The explosion site is close to the heavily guarded civil secretariat building that houses the offices of the state chief minister, ministers and senior bureaucrats.

“We have surrounded the area for searches,” the officer said. Security forces were seen checking passing vehicles in the area.

No militant group has yet claimed responsibility for the blast.
