World should jointly fight terror: India, America

New Delhi : With threat of terrorism looming over South Asia, India and US on Friday asked the international community to jointly fight the scourge and agreed that their bilateral relations would benefit regional and global peace.

Defence Minister A K Antony and US’ National Security Advisor (NSA) General James Jones, who met here on Friday, exchanged views on the challenges posed by terrorism, Defence Ministry spokesperson Sitanshu Kar said here.

“The Defence Minister and the US NSA exchanged views on the challenges posed by terrorism and agreed that there was a need for the international community to jointly combat the scourge of terrorism,” Kar said soon after the 30-minute meeting between the two sides ended on Friday evening.
