Tehran : An Iranian-American radio reporter, detained since the end of January in a Tehran prison, will soon be released, a judiciary official said Friday.
ISNA news agency quoted him as saying investigations in the case of Roxana Saberi had been concluded and she would be released within the next few days.
He gave no further details on what Saberi was accused of and when exactly she would be released from the Evin prison.
US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton had urged Iran Thursday to release Saberi and enable her return to her family in North Dakota.
The 31-year-old, a US citizen with an Iranian father and Japanese mother working for National Public Radio in the US, was reportedly arrested about one month ago accused of undertaking press work without official accreditation.
Foreign correspondents and Iranian nationals working for foreign media are obliged to obtain official accreditation from the ministry, otherwise they are not allowed to pursue any press work.
