India beat Pakistan in Women’s World Cup cricket opener

Sydney, March 7(IANS) Indian women began their World Cup cricket campaign on a victorious note, thumping Pakistan by 10 wickets at the Bradman Oval at Bowral, Friday.

Put in, Pakistan were shot out for 57 in 29 overs and India hit off the runs in 10 overs.

Rumeli Dhar was the most sucessful bowler with three for seven. Amita Sharma(2-9) and Priyanka Roy (2-13) also contributed to the quick finish of Pakistan innings.

Sana Mir top scored with 17 with Abidi, the only other batsman, to reach double figures.

Anagha Deshpande (26) and Anjum Chopra (17) took India home.
