Patna : A Maoist rebel has been beaten to death by a group of villagers in Bihar, a police official said Thursday.
Ravidas alias Badal, a self-proclaimed area commander of the banned Communist Party of India-Maoist, was killed in Khaira village of Lakhisarai district, 160 km form here, Wednesday night, Additional Director General of Police Neelmani told reporters here.
Ravidas had entered the house of Devendra Yadav and started teasing the family members at gunpoint. “When women in the family started shouting, a group of villagers gathered there and beat him to death,” the official said.
He was wanted in several cases, including that of a massacre, the police said.
