Lucknow, March 13 (IANS) The Election Commission has for the first time in the country’s poll history prescribed an 11-point resume for all candidates in the Lok Sabha polls.
According to Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Election Officer A.K. Bishnoi, “every candidate will be required to fill up this 11-point form carrying basic particulars about him – including name, address, qualification, place of current and permanent residence, phone numbers, e-mail address along with website, if any.
“Such an exercise was being undertaken for the first time,” he said.
Asked about the objective of the new format, he said: “It will enable the electors to get an idea about their prospective representatives.”
He said the information given in the form would be made available to the public.
