Hamilton : New Zealand fought back in the post-lunch session of the first cricket Test against India to go to tea at 162 for six here at Seddon Park here Wednesday.

The home team, who had lost six wickets in the first session for 61 runs, did not lose any in the second as skipper Daniel Vettori (64) and Jesse Ryder (50) put on 102 runs for the seventh wicket.
