Two Maoists arrested with weapons in West Bengal

Kolkata : Two suspected Maoist rebels were arrested from a village in West Bengal’s Nadia district Friday, the police said.

“Acting on a tip-off, we arrested two Maoist rebels – Sheikh Firdaus and Safikul – from Ghojadanga village near the Indo-Bangladesh border,” state police Inspector General (Law and Order) Raj Kanojia told IANS here.

“We have recovered a 9mm pistol, an improvised pistol, 13 rounds of cartridges and some important documents from them,” he said.

Nadia is more than 100 km from here.
