Mumbai: Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections the Malegaon police have seized explosives worth lakhs from a lodge.
The additional superintendent of police of Malegaon Sanjay Patil told media that on the basis of intelligence report they raided a lodge located in Chophali region of Malegaon and arrested Ajay Ramchandra Chobe and Dhananjay Ramchandra Chobe.
Both the brothers are from Siwan district of Bihar and have been staying in Malegaon in disguise of security guard officers for an Airtel Company tower.
The police seized from duo five guns and 54 live bullets worth 1.5 lakh. It is said that the third brother Pappu Ramchandra Chobe is in jail for alleged murder of Siwan MLA.
According to the report of “Urdu Times daily” the license and the documents of the guns they had were fake. It adds that they are the part of an armed group and came from Bihar. They have been security guard employees in the town.
On the other hand the police have also arrested four more persons from different places of Nashik district on the clues emerged during their investigation and are questioning them.
Both the accused -Ajay Ramchandra Chobe and Dhananjay Ramchandra Chobe- were produced before the local court on March 20 which gave them in magistrate custody till April 2.
