New Delhi : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Monday said it will support the Nagaland People’s Front (NPF) candidate in the northeast state, as the party declared its candidates for 29 Lok Sabha seats in six states.
The party announced candidates for four seats in Uttar Pradesh, nine in Maharashtra, seven in Andhra Pradesh, three in Orissa, five in Kerala and one in Manipur.
“The BJP has entered into a tacit understanding with some regional parties in northeastern states and has declared support to such candidates. The BJP will support Nagaland People’s Front (NPF) candidate in Nagaland,” a BJP statement said.
The central election committee of the BJP met under the presidentship of Rajnath Singh and finalised the list.
