New Delhi : “Will see,” was Congress general Rahul Gandhi’s response when a voter asked him at a polling station here Thursday if he will make a good prime minister one day.

The question was posed to him by voter Poonam Vasudevan, who was ecstatic after shaking hands with Gandhi at a polling centre on Aurangzeb Lane here.

The 50-year-old woman of course did not know she would encounter the Congress general secretary when she turned up to vote, though she was desperate to meet him.

Officials at the polling booth were asking Vasudevan and one of her neighbours, Jagmohan, to leave after they had voted when Gandhi walked in.

Clad in white kurta-pyajama, Gandhi voted and walked up to the two and shook hands with Vasudevan.

“He has a firm handshake,” an elated Vasudevan told IANS. “Earlier I did not feel he (Gandhi) would make a good politician. But he is sincere and very pleasant to speak (to).”
