“Hum kisi ke sampark mein nahin hain. Iska prashn hi nahin utthta (We are not in touch with any party. The question doesn’t arise),” Kumar, whose JD-U is part of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), told reporters when asked if there was a possibility of him switching sides.

The United Progressive Alliance (UPA) has been making all efforts to woo the JD-U as a post-poll strategy in order to reach the magic figure needed to form a new government.

Kumar also denied Left leader Prakash Karat’s claim that they were in talks. “I am only in touch with the NDA allies. Neither Karat or Buddhadeb (West Bengal C.M. Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee) have contacted me.”

The Nitish Kumar government is supported by the BJP-led NDA in Bihar.

He is slated to attend a massive NDA rally in Ludhiana in Punjab Sunday afternoon.
