Mumbai : The country’s largest lender, the State Bank of India, Thursday said it had appointed Finance Secretary Ashok Chawla as a director on its board.
The appointment became effective May 13.
The government had appointed Chawla, who was Economic Affairs Secretary, as the new finance secretary May 12.
Chawla, a 1973 batch Indian Administrative Service officer from the Gujarat cadre, has also been given additional charge of the Department of Financial Services.
He was also secretary in the civil aviation ministry earlier.
