Kolkata : Trinamool Congress MPs Monday passed a resolution extending support to the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government.
The resolution was passed at a meeting of the Trinamool Congress Parliamentary Party, in which all the newly elected Lok Sabha MPs of the party were present.
The meeting unanimously elected Trinamool chief Mamata Banerjee as the parliamentary party leader and Sultan Ahmed and Govinda Naskar as deputy leaders.
Briefing newspersons after the meeting, Banerjee said her party’s support to the UPA government was unconditional.
“There are no terms and conditions involved. This is not a joint venture project,” she said.
