Rio de Janeiro : Another unhappy Brazilian footballer, full-back Alex Silva, wants to return home from Germany.
Silva is in Brazil recovering from an injury he received playing for German team Hamburg.
“Fluminense want to hire me and they have called me to ask if I want to play for them,” said Silva.
An attractive reason for Silva to join Fluminense would be to play alongside his former teammate and friend Thiago Neves. The two played for Hamburg.
Silva, who earlier had a stint with Sao Paulo, admits that if he were to return to Brazilian soccer, Fluminense would be good option.
The timing could not have been better for Fluminense. Ever since their fullback, Thiago Silva left to play for the Italian club, Milan, the team has not been able to find a permanent replacement.
Silva’s arrival would also strengthen Fluminense’s defence, which let in five goals in last week’s loss to Santos.
