The malls have to send the compliance report to police by Nov 25, said an official.

The mock exercise was conducted Sep 30.

“Police have directed mall owners to appoint separate women security guards to frisk women visitors. They have been told to install CCTV cameras with proper recording facility at all vulnerable places,” said Joint Police Commissioner Alok Mittal Monday.

He added: “A round-the-clock control room or monitoring room should be kept operational to keep watch on the activities of people coming to the mall. During the mock exercise it was noticed that many of the visitors were not checked properly when entering the mall.”

Millennium city Gurgaon falls in the National Capital Region, and is around 10 km from New Delhi.

Mittal said mall owners should get a security audit done by security specialists at regular intervals and mock security drills should be conducted with the help of civil administration and local police.
