India, Nepal home ministers to discuss security cooperation

By IANS,

Kathmandu : The home ministers of India and Nepal would discuss greater security cooperation to combat cross-border terrorism in South Asia next week when Nepal’s Home Minister Bhim Rawal arrives in New Delhi on a three-day visit.

Rawal will be holding talks with his Indian peer P. Chidambaram and senior Indian security officials.

The visit will kick off from Nov 17.

Rawal will be accompanied by the chiefs of Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and National investigation Department as well as Home Secretary Govinda Prasad Kusum.

Kusum and Indian Home Secretary G.K. Pillai had discussed enhanced security cooperation between the two neighbours during his visit to Kathmandu last week.

While the Nepal minister will be visiting India, the opposition Maoist party sent its new head of the guerrilla army, Nanda Kishore Pun Pasang, to China for consultations with leaders of the Communist Party of China.
