Amar Singh calls Raj Thackeray a Hitler

New Delhi: Equating Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray with Hitler, Samajwadi Party general secretary Amar Singh Saturday said that “if this Hitler of linguistic parochialism is not stopped, he will swallow the forces who have created him”.

He also said that his party would felicitate its Maharashtra leader, Abu Asim Azmi, who was attacked by MNS legislators in the state assembly in Mumbai Nov 17 for taking his oath in Hindi and not in Marathi.

Without naming the Congress, Amar Singh said the forces which created Sikh separatist leader Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale also created Raj Thackeray.

Asking the major political forces in the country to react against Raj Thackeray’s outbursts, Amar Singh said that when Hitler invaded Poland and Czechoslovakia, the world powers did not react.

“But Hitler did not stop there,” said Amar Singh, indicating that if the MNS chief was not stopped, he would become another Hitler.

Asked about the alleged MNS threat to the State Bank of India (SBI) not to recruit “outsiders” in Maharashtra, Amar Singh said such demands should not be made for technical jobs.
