Labourer killed in a factory fire in Delhi

New Delhi: A labourer was burnt alive in a fire that broke out in a factory in Keshavpuram area in northwest Delhi Sunday, a fire brigade officer said. A fireman was also injured while battling the flames.

The accident took place at a vaseline manufacturing unit around 3:25 p.m, the officer added.

“As many as 11 fire tenders were rushed to the spot and it took them around four hours to douse the fire. After the fire was brought under control, a charred body was found from the second floor of the building,” the officer said.

“The fire broke out in the second and third floors of the unit where raw materials and machinery were kept. A fireman also suffered minor injuries during the incident,” the fire brigade officer added.

The police are trying to ascertain the cause of fire.
