Kolkata : Suspected Maoist guerrillas killed a local Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) leader in West Bengal’s West Midnapore district, police said Tuesday.
According to police, Ashok Kotal, a former Kharkasholi village council chief, was abducted Monday night from his home by a group of unidentified men.
“His body was found lying near a road under Kotwali police station Tuesday morning. Kotal was shot dead by Maoist ultras,” a district police officer said.
