New Delhi: Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) leader Sitaram Yechury Thursday said the Trinamool Congress was in cahoots with the Maoists to create anarchy in West Bengal.
“They (Trinamool) are protecting and patronising the Maoists, who unleash violence in the state,” Yechury told reporters in parliament.
He said the Trinamool wanted to create “anarchy” with the help of the Maoists and hold the elections in the state under President’s Rule.
“This is their political gameplan,” Yechury said.
He said the Trinamool, which is part of the Manmohan Singh government, is acting against the prime minister’s resolve that Maoists are greatest threat to the country.
Lok Sabha was adjourned Thursday following an uproar in the house by Trinamool Congress and the Left parties over the violent clashes in West Bengal’s Hooghly district that left one man dead and five injured.
