KPMG named ‘indirect tax firm’ of the year

New Delhi : Global tax and audit firm KPMG’s Indian arm has been named the country’s “Indirect Tax Firm of the Year” at an international tax forum.

KPMG is bagging the award for the second time in a row.

“These awards are recognition of our commitment to highest quality standards and thought leadership as well as the trust posed by our clients,” Uday Ved, head of tax for KPMG India, said in a statement Friday.

The professional services firm also won the award of “Asia’s Transfer Pricing Firm of the Year” at a function held in Singapore, in which tax professionals from across the continent participated.

“These are transforming times for Indian tax scenario and with the introduction of GST (goods and services tax), India will witness the most radical tax reform,” Ved said.

“We do recognise the new opportunities and challenges that will come along, and would be keen to work with our clients in this important transition.”

The “International Tax Review Asia” award celebrates the most innovative tax transactional, structuring and advisory work done in Asia.
