Prof Tariq Mansoor of AMU elected president of UP chapter of Association of Surgeons of India

Patna: Professor Tariq Mansoor, senior surgeon of Jawahar Lal Nehru Medical College of Aligarh Muslim University, has been elected as president of Association of Surgeons of India’s Uttar Pradesh chapter.

It is first time when any product of AMU has been appointed for this noble post. Selection was conducted by postal belt in which Professor Tariq Mansoor got 160 votes and was at top position while Professor R.B. Singh of King George Medical College of Lucknow was at second position by getting 90 votes.



Professor Tariq will be assuming the office for the period of two years. He will preside over several conventions of Association of Surgeons of India which will be held in the state during his tenure.

Earlier, he was member of executive committee of UP chapter of Association of Surgeons of India and was also elected as its vice president.
