SDPI candidate Majeed Faisy files nominations in Kannur

Kochi: Majeed Faisy, candidate of the newly-formed Social Democratic Party of India, filed his nomination in Kannur yesterday. Mr Faisy is the lone candidate of the SDPI in the upcoming by-elections to the Kerala Assembly as the party decided not to field any candidates in Alappuzha and Ernakulam constituencies.

Mr Faisy expressed confidence in the response from the people of Kannur to his candidature. Victory is the aim of SDPI, he added. The state general secretary of the party was talking to the media persons after filing his nomination.

He said that the party had hopes in the 75% voters who are not biased to any political party. “People of Kannur want peace and justice. They are fed up with testing the LDF and the UDF always”, he added.

The documents regarding wealth submitted by Faisy states that he has Rs 2000 handy and Rs 3759 as investment in bank. His wife and daughter have some gold ornaments. He also has 10 cents of land in Namakara village and a house worth Rs 7 lakhs.
