The entire beautification process will include planting of saplings to make the place look greener and construction of foot paths and cycle tracks.

PWD minister Raj Kumar Chauhan said: “Since the Commonwealth Games are around the corner, the PWD is in the process of taking up the work of street-scaping and beautification of areas near the venues of the games. Today (Monday) we inaugurated the street-scaping work and beautification at Aashram to Bhairon Marg and Indira Gandhi Stadium areas.”

According to Chauhan, roads, over a distance of 80 km, would be a part of the beautification process.

“Footpaths alongside the venues of Commonwealth Games would be beautified as per global standards. Footpaths and cycle tracks will also be constructed near Khel Gaon and saplings planted,” he added.
