New Delhi : The government has not yet taken a decision on how to react to the recent judgement of the Delhi High Court to decriminalise homosexuality, Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni said here Thursday.
The high court decision has been challenged in the Supreme Court, which has asked the government for its point of view.
Asked if the issue was discussed during the morning’s meeting of the union cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Soni told reporters it was not taken up as Home Minister P. Chidambaram was not present.
“The law ministry will take up the matter now,” she said.
