New Delhi: “Encountered on Saffron Agenda?”, the documentary by journalist and filmmaker Shubhradeep Chakravorty on four prominent fake encounters in Gujarat including that of Sohrabuddin and Ishrat Jahan will be telecast on NewsX TV channel on Sunday.
The 2-hour programme on NewsX on September 13, 2009 from 8 to 10 pm will feature the documentary. First one hour will be devoted to the documentary and last one to a discussion on fake encounter.
The Ahmedabad Metropolitan Magisterate has revealed that the June 2004 Ishrat Jahan encounter was fake and it was executed by top police officials just to ensure their promotions. The magisterial probe has again brought into hot discussion the rising trend of fake encounters by the security forces.
