Jammu : Two special police officers were killed in an ambush by militants in Jammu and Kashmir’s mountainous Doda district Friday afternoon, police said.
According to the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Deepak Kumar, a group of militants ambushed a police team at Sikritop area, about 180 km from here.
“They killed two SPOs (special police officers) and ran away with an Insas rifle and a pistol,” he said.
The SPOs are temporary recruits in police, assisting in operations.
