Patna: As Kerala government allotted land for establishing an off-campus centre of Aligarh Muslim University in the state, a five-member team led by AMU Vice Chancellor Prof. P. K. Abdul Azis is visiting Perinthalamanna in Malappuram district today to inspect the land.
Besides the V-C, the visiting team comprises some prominent officials of AMU namely Prof. Pervez Mustajab, Controller of Examinations and Officer on Special Duty (Development), Prof. Ekram Husain, former Dean, faculty of Engineering and Technology, Prof. Javed Akhtar, Dean Faculty of Management Studies and Research and Prof. N. A. K. Durrani, Media Advisor.
Besides inspecting the land, they are also scheduled to meet and discuss with the senior officials of the Government of Kerala including officials in charge of land acquisition.
The state government has already appointed Dr. Kuncheria P. Isaac, Director of Technical Education as Nodal Officer. He will also be furnishing full details of the action taken regarding the matter, including survey map of the proposed area of land which has been identified for acquisition for the special Centre of the AMU in the state.
