Second US woman charged with plotting terrorism in Europe

Washington: The US government has charged a second US women with conspiring to commit acts of terrorism in Europe, the Justice Department announced Friday.

Jamie Paulin Ramirez of Colorado was added to an indictment last month against Colleen R. LaRose, a woman from eastern Pennsylvania who also goes by the nickname Jihad Jane.

LaRose was charged with conspiracy to provide material support to terrorists and to kill in a foreign country. She is accused of using the internet to find recruits and travelling to Sweden as part of a plot to kill a Swedish cartoonist who drew controversial pictures of the Muslim Prophet Mohammed in 2007.

Ramirez, 31, is accused of travelling to Europe with LaRose “to participate in and in support of violent jihad”. She was charged with conspiracy to provide material support to terrorists and faces up to 15 years in prison.
