Shimla’s temperature six degrees above average

Shimla : Temperatures across Himachal Pradesh Sunday remained above average by three to eight degrees, the weatherman said, adding that state capital Shimla saw a high of 23.5 degrees Celsius, six notches above average.

“Temperatures increased across the state due to lack of rain in the past few weeks. The maximum temperature remained above average by three to eight degrees,” Manmohan Singh, director of the meteorological office here, told IANS.

Likewise, Sundernagar in Mandi district saw a maximum of 34.4 degrees Celsius, Bhuntar in Kullu district 30.8 degrees Celsius and Kalpa in Kinnaur district recorded temperature of 15.5 degrees Celsius.

The met department said that the weather would remain dry Monday.
