Stern action for violating fire safety norms: Buddhadeb

By IANS,

Kolkata: The West Bengal government will take stern action against building owners found guilty of violating fire safety norms, Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee said here Monday.

“We have to take stern action against those who are violating fire safety norms. Because by violating fire safety norms, one is putting to risk the lives of common man,” he said in his address at the inaugural programme of underground and computerised parking system Parkomat.

“One of the main problems of our city is traffic congestion and this underground computerised parking lounge Parkomat with its 600 car parking facility at any point of time will indeed decrease the traffic congestion in this area,” Bhattacharjee added.

Parkomat is the first two-tier underground car parking and computerised car parking system in the city. It is situated just opposite the state secretariat, Writers’ Buildings.
